Light is a Loose Part!
Light Is a loose part!
At The Curiosity Approach® we love using clip on lights, projectors, lamps and lightboxes.
Have you considered putting your projector on a plant trolley with wheels - so that it can be moved forwards and backwards! Closer to the wall or further away.
Allow children to move and engage with light. To experiment and be curious about this wondrous phenomenon.
"There is evidence that all children love to interact with variables such as materials and shapes; smells and other physical phenomena, such as electricity, magnetism and gravity; media such as gases and fluids; sounds, music and motion; chemical interactions, cooking and fire; and other people, and animals, plants, words, concepts and ideas.
With all these things all children love to play, experiment, discover and invent and have fun.
All these things have one thing in common, which is variables or 'loose parts'."
Simon Nicholson
“When children interact with loose parts, they enter a world of ‘what if’ that promotes the type of thinking that leads to problem solving and theoretical reasoning. Loose parts enhance children’s ability to think imaginatively and see solutions, and they bring a sense of adventure and excitement to children’s play.” - Daly and Beloglovsky, 2015
As adults we need to facilitate such an experience and then step back and let the child explore and PLAY!
An inexpensive loose part that curious minds will find fascinating. Bringing awe & wonder into Early Years.
This is a wondrous invitation to play instigated by educators who understand WHY and How to offer a powerful play experience. ❤️
Need a loose part that will fascinate children
